about

To see out the end of 2023 in style, eatmybeat welcome back Bristol-based Kahter to the label. As a long-term affiliate and remix collaborator on earlier projects, it was a given that Kahter would return for a full length EP. He delivers 4 low-slung, club-ready hits full of UK bass and techno flavour, complete with an additional 5th track; a remix from Italian bass don Kimber. The project, titled “Kord EP” explores subterranean depths, expansive sound design and intricate drum combos.

The first track ‘Kord’ sets the scene. Ethereal sweeps and pads canvas the track as the kick drum packs a hefty thump on the low end. ‘Round Cell’ captures that same energy, adding colour and texture with bouncy bongo variations and bass wobbles.

Things get a little spicy with ‘Spicule’, a winding cavern of electric synth lines and scattered bass stabs. Then we have ‘Touch’, an extraordinary take on that 120 bpm dubstep-meets-techno flavour that we’ve been feeling recently.

Can’t forget the remix of ‘Kord’ which comes from a newcomer to the label, Kimber. We’ve had our eye on him for some time and he doesn’t disappoint with his enigmatic rendition of the title track.

The “Kord EP” on the 29th November on the eatmybeat Bandcamp and through all of your favourite digital retailers.
